Heavy rain lashes several states, red alert sounded in Maharashtra,Karnataka

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a red alarm for a few locale of Karnataka and Kerala even as substantial downpours lashed in confined spots at beach front Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Gujarat.

"Substantial to overwhelming precipitation likely at secluded places over West Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Gujarat locale, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West Rajasthan and, Karnataka," the IMD said.

Solid breezes, arriving at 40-50 kmph, were probably going to beat the north, focal and southwest Arabian Sea, focal and south Bay of Bengal and along and off West Coast and West Bengal-Odisha-Andhra coasts and the Andaman Sea. The IMD further prompted the anglers not to wander into these zones.
